November Fun at The Academy of Gateway!

We kicked off the Thanksgiving fun with a Turkey Target game, where our little ones had a blast knocking down turkey pins with a "mashed potato" ball. The giggles, cheers, and big smiles made it a classroom favorite. Next up was Dress like a Scarecrow Day and everyone looked so cute in their plaid, patches and straw! The kids loved showing off their outfits and getting into the fall spirit. We also began our gratitude game, we had all of the kids and teachers write what they were thankful for on a chain link, and we had our classrooms filled with gratitude chains. Our sensory play for the week was a hit with our Feed the Turkey Sensory Bin! The children practiced fine-motor skills while scooping, sorting, and "feeding" their turkey! We got ready for Thanksgiving by making Turkey feathered headbands, the kids were filled with giggles and loved showing off their silly headbands. We wrapped up the week with a special Family Movie Night grab and go, complete with popcorn and candy. Families picked up their treats to enjoy a cozy movie night at home, and it was the perfect way to end a week full of fun and fall memories.

We are so thankful for our amazing families and all the joy the children bring to our school each day.

Spooky Fun, and Thankful Hearts!

October wrapped up with plenty of spooky fun here at The Academy of Gateway! Our little learners got into the Halloween spirit with spooky sock day, showing off their spookiest socks around the classroom. We also took our learning outdoors with a Jack-o'-Lantern jump activity, where our friends hopped along colorful chalk pumpkins. To make Halloween night even more special, we had our grab and glow event at pickup. A bright and fun surprise to light up the evening for our little trick-or-treaters. As November began, we jumped right into traditions! This week we started our Disguise a Turkey family competition, encouraging creativity as families work together to create a turkey. We can't wait to see all the creativity!

Our students also took time to show gratitude and kindness by creating heartfelt Veterans Day cards to honor and thank those who served our country. To carry that spirit of gratitude through the month, we've started our school-wide Thankful Tree! Each family is adding colorful leaves filled with what each family is Thankful for. It's quickly becoming a beautiful reminder of how much we have to celebrate and appreciate. We love seeing our school community come together for fun, creativity, and kindness, it's what makes the Academy such a special place to learn and grow!
