We LOVE The Academy!!

Lawson brought his Blackberry yesterday so he could email his dad and let him know all the fun things he was learning about at school!!

Maddox and H were very big helpers.. If Ms. Jennifer or Mrs. Brittany have to take a day off we know who will be great at running the center!

This past Saturday a few of the ladies from The Academy of Gateway went and participated in the Murfreesboro 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes! We were set up in the kids zone along with Children's Dentistry of Murfreesboro, The Rutherford Parent, and some really fun bounce houses.. We painted many faces..

Pumkin Decorating with PS2

Yesterday Preschool 1 had a great time carving a pumpkin in their class!

Miss Andrea brought a pumpkin and let the kiddos help her.

Lucia, Jordan, Mikey, Kyson and Amirah loved it so much!

Sysco visit

This week our theme is How Does Food Move From Place to Place..

Here at The Academy we order our food items from Sysco, so we thought no better way to start the week off learning about how food gets from place to place than to show the kiddos how our food gets to us..

We had Sysco come out and show the kiddos his truck and talk about how our food gets to us from them!

Big THANKS to Sysco!!!!

Our order usually arrives around 2:00 in the afternoon on Mondays. Today our order was brought earlier in the day so we could show the kiddos the truck and they could see how a delivery works.

The kiddos got to watch the truck being unloaded and the boxes taken into the kitchen to Miss Rachel!

They really enjoyed it!!

The Academy is recognized by the community for our kindergarten specific programs including our one-of-a-kind Kindergarten Boot Camp. Our Pre-K program includes hands-on explorations that create new learning connections in language, math, science, social, emotional and physical development. Children investigate “Big Ideas” and are actively involved in seeking answers to their own questions. Intentional daily plans cover a specific range of guidelines that prepare our children to meet and exceed kindergarten readiness standards for both public and private schools. Kindergarten Boot Camp, offered exclusively by Never Grow Up, is a dedicated summer program that teaches important, yet often overlooked, skills needed to navigate kindergarten with confidence. Skills such as remembering a lunch number, carrying a lunch tray or returning a library book are examples of how we “train” our Academy kids to “be all they can be”!

The Gold Sneaker initiative was developed to enhance policy related to physical activity and nutrition within licensed child care facilities across Tennessee. Policies we've adopted include minimum requirements on physical activity, sedentary activities, breastfeeding, meal time, behaviors, portion sizes, and a tobacco-free facility.
