Mr. Bond, the Science Guy visits the Academy of Gateway!

On Tuesday, July 29th Mr. Bond, the Science Guy, came to visit the Academy of Gateway.
His show was very entertaining while educational! He kept the kiddos on their toes. They were filled with excitement as he switched from different parts of his show. We are very grateful to Mr. Bond for coming by to teach our kiddos how fun science can be!

First, he made a really loud screeching sound by touching ice to the bowl. The kiddos were definitely not expecting it!

Once was not enough! Most of the kiddos loved making the noise!

Of course, everyone wanted to take a turn! Mr. Bond, the Science Guy, was fantastic about letting the kiddos participate!

Little did we know, our Assistant Director,
Mrs. Jessica would be helping too.

Maddox, Lawson, and Aiden couldn't wait to get their hands on the bubbles!

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere! The kiddos had so much fun with the bubbles that many of them had bubbles in their hair! Bryce absolutely loved playing with the bubbles!

Next, it was time to try tasting the fog! Mr. Bond claimed it would taste like Sprite. Many of the kiddos found out it wasn't as yummy as Sprite!

They still loved it anyways! Sa'Ria and Harper tasted it, made a funny face, and then tasted it again!

As if making fog wasn't cool enough, Mr. Bond,
the Science Guy, used the fog to shoot cups
into the air. He created the fog inside of a vase
and then shoved cups into the top of it.
Every time the cups shot up,
the kiddos yelled and clapped!

Ms. Andrea volunteered to have her hair rise
by the electric current.  Mr. Bond asked
Mrs. Jessica to fist bump Ms. Andrea.
A little fist bump led to a big shock!

Of course the kiddos in Preschool 4 chose Ms. Olivia to volunteer!

When Alex was chosen to volunteer he couldn't get to the stage fast enough!

Jaxson was so brave to touch the ball after initially being scared. He couldn't stop laughing after his hair began rising!

Elyse's hair really stood up! She shook her head and away it went!

With the lights turned off, we could see a long, blue spark Eliot made!

Eizley and Aiden had a blast shooting potatoes from the tube!

Although the potato shot out fast and loudly, Zane wasn't afraid one bit! He couldn't wait to help!

Special thanks to Mr. Bond the Science Guy for coming to visit us at the Academy of Gateway. Check him out at www.mrbondscienceguy.com.

Abracadabra...Magician at The Academy

Abracadabra was the magic word on Friday!  Sparkman the Magician http://www.sparkmansmagic.com/kids
came to visit the Academy of Gateway!  Everyone in the building was amazed at the tricks Mr. Sparkman had for us. The kids were so intrigued you could hear a pin drop, until their laughs and yells of excitement filled the room!

The kids were so happy to volunteer that once wasn't enough! Mr. Sparkman decided to start a contest between boys and girls. "Who Could pull out the coolest object from the hat?"
The boys started off with some neat items, but the girls always had something a little bit bigger and better!

Koen and Jordan were especially entertained. Maybe one day, they will become magicians!  If so, they will always be welcome to come perform at the Academy of Gateway!

Oh No! All of the pictures in the picture book disappeared! Where did they go?

Callie was happy to help hold the pictures for Mr. Sparkman!

Abracadabra! Bugs Bunny appeared on the pictures followed by Mr. Sparkman's picture!

Have you ever seen someone stick a wand through a ball without popping it? The kids and staff at the Academy of Gateway have!

"How did he do that?" This seems to be the question on everyone's mind.

That's the biggest magician's wand we have ever seen! The kids absolutely loved getting to wave this gigantic wand and say the magic words!

With the boys help, and the giant wand he made her card appear inside the balloon!

Boing! All of the sudden, giant snakes popped out of the wand!

Ellie proved to be a fantastic magician's assistant! The card appeared out of no where!

No Magic Show is complete without a magic bunny! Of course, everyone wanted to touch it!

Mr. Sparkman was very nice to pass the bunny around so all of the kids could see!

Uncle Dave Macon Days 2014

The Academy of Gateway is a proud sponsor of Macon Music program at The Bradley Academy. We had a great time celebrating this at the 2014 Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival.

The Academy of Gateway handed out hug drink barrels with twisty straws and fans on this hot summer day!

Many of our teachers came to help friends make a banjo. Many of them used these to pretend they were strumming along to the bluegrass that was playing on stage.

You never know who you will meet out and about...

Ace got to meet Forest Gump! They spoke of Bubba Gump and shrimp and his Momma before Ace walked around to meet more friends.

We had a great time at Uncle Dave's Macon Days Festival 2014!
