Summer Adventures at Academy: Let’s Get Moving and Outta This World Week!

The fun continued at Academy as our summer program brought two unforgettable weeks filled with movement, creativity, exploration, and exciting hands-on experiences. From active adventures to galaxy-inspired discoveries, our little learners had the opportunity to build new skills, make memories, and have fun while they Grow, Learn, and Play!

We kicked off our adventures with Let’s Get Moving Week, where our classrooms were full of energy, teamwork, and plenty of opportunities to stay active.

We started the week with Beach Ball Tennis Monday, where our friends practiced hand-eye coordination, balance, and teamwork while keeping the beach balls moving. Tuesday brought a Bubble Extravaganza filled with laughter and excitement as children chased, popped, and played while strengthening their gross motor skills.

On Wednesday, our friends took on a Red Light, Green Light Obstacle Course, practicing listening skills, following directions, and building confidence as they raced through different challenges. Thursday was all about teamwork and fun during our Water Olympics, where children cooled off while participating in splash-filled activities and learning the importance of cooperation and sportsmanship.

We wrapped up Let’s Get Moving Week with a special Tippie Toes Dance Demo Class! Our students danced, moved, and expressed their creativity while discovering how movement can build confidence and bring joy.

After moving and grooving, we blasted off into space for Outta This World Week! Our little astronauts explored a galaxy of fun activities designed to inspire curiosity, imagination, and hands-on learning.

We started the week with Moon Pie Monday Grab and Go, where families enjoyed a sweet space-themed surprise to celebrate the beginning of our adventure. On Tuesday, our classrooms transformed into NASA-inspired laboratories for our Moon Sand Lab, where children explored sensory play, experimented with textures, and created their own out-of-this-world discoveries.

Wednesday was filled with glowing fun during our Glow Galaxy Party! Students danced, explored, and enjoyed a magical galaxy experience surrounded by lights and excitement. Thursday brought the perfect summer cool down with Galaxy Splash Day, where our friends enjoyed water activities, teamwork, and lots of smiles.

We ended the week with a special Parents’ Night Out, giving our students an evening full of games, activities, and fun with their friends while families enjoyed some well-deserved time for themselves.

These two weeks were filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable summer memories. We are so proud of our students for trying new things, working together, and exploring the world around them with curiosity and excitement.

Thank you to our families for joining us on these adventures and being part of our Academy community. We can’t wait to see what fun comes next as we continue to Grow, Learn, and Play together!

From Sea Adventures to Stars & Stripes: Summer Fun Continues! 🌊

Summer fun has continued at the Academy of Gateway with two exciting themes that kept our students learning, exploring, and creating through hands-on experiences.

During Under the Sea Week, our classrooms dove into an ocean of discovery. Students created their own under-the-sea sensory jars, filling them with colorful materials that brought the beauty of the deep blue sea to life. They also explored fluffy sea foam, using their senses to investigate different textures while enjoying a little messy fun.

Creativity was in full swing as our little learners designed pasta coral reefs, learning about the colorful underwater habitats that sea creatures call home.

The following week, we proudly celebrated We Are America Week by exploring the colors, symbols, and traditions that make our country unique. To start off the week, families received Pop Rocks grab-and-go treats. A crackling surprise that tied perfectly into our U.S pride week and made for a fun take-home experience. Students created their own American flags through hands-on art projects while practicing fine motor skills and learning about what the flag represents.

Our classrooms also featured a red, white, and blue sensory experience, allowing children to scoop, pour, and explore patriotic colors through play. These activities encouraged curiosity, creativity, and sensory development while bringing our theme to life.

From ocean exploration to patriotic celebrations, our summer continues to be filled with meaningful learning, creative play, and unforgettable memories. We can't wait to see what adventures are still to come at the Academy of Gateway! 🌊❤️🤍💙
