Fall Fest!

 

This week at The Academy Of Gateway we had our Fall Fest. It was so good to see the families come out and enjoy themselves. The kids loved all the activities we had lined up. Fall is all about getting together with your families and having fun!!

Here are some great activities you can do this fall outside :

School Family!

This week at Academy Of Gateway we have been working on our family trees. We have talked about our family's at home and our school family. Family is the single most important influence in a child's life. From their first moments of life, children depend on parents and family to protect them and provide their needs. They are a child's first teachers and act as role models in how to act and how to experience the world around them.

Play dough Fun!

 

This week at The Academy Of Gateway we have been doing lots of play dough activities! Children can learn so much from playing with play dough. It teaches kids fine motor skills, this helps in your children's hands to develop the strength, dexterity, and control needed to manipulate everyday items such as scissors, pencils, zippers, and buttons. It also helps the physical development for writing and drawing.  Children are exploring abilities, life experiences, and emotions.

• Improves social skills
• Supports literacy and numeracy

Scavenger Hunt!

 This week at The Academy Of Gateway we have been all about scavenger hunts. The kids have loved being able to have them inside as well as outside. They have been helping the teachers pick themes each day and some great helpers got to hide things as well. Children can learn so much from having a scavenger hunt. They can learn their five senses with different things to support each sense. You can incorporate science, colors, site words, Spanish and math as well. Get as creative as you want!
