Science and Gardening

This week at The Academy of Gateway we are learning about gardening. How a garden grows and how different types of seeds make up your garden. We are excited to learn about the different parts of a flower and for the children to witness the life cycle of plants. For the finishing touch we are adding rock painting to the garden.  We can't wait to see what the children have put together in our AOG gardens.

Here are some tips to kick off your gardening activities and teaching the children all about science. Click here for a great experiment.

Outdoor Family Fun

The weather is getting warmer and the kids are out of school. It is a great time to make a commitment to get off the phones and tablets and get outside.

Studies reveal that 15 minutes outside per day will result in:

  1. Vitamin D Synthesis
  2. Higher levels of cognitive functioning
  3. Stronger immunity and healing ability
  4. Healthy expenditure of unused energy
  5. Your body will obtain microbes to enable your immune system to become smarter and stronger
