Fire Prevention Week!

 

Last week at The Academy of Gateway we talked about Fire safety. We worked on teaching the kiddos Stop, drop, and roll and how to call 911 in case of an emergency. The Murfreesboro fire department also came out to talk to our kiddos about fire safety. The children loved getting to see the fire truck and try on some of their gear. What a fun way to end the week last week!

Playdough Monsters

This week at The Academy we kicked off the month of October with some spooky activities. We read "Pete the cat and the 5 little pumpkins", we made a cool puffy ghost craft, and had a spooky grab and go snack. Our favorite activity of the week was creating our very own play-dough monsters. The kiddos were able to pick what color they wanted their monster to be and choose what kind of eyes and antennae's they wanted. What a way to kick off the spookiest month of the year!

National Hispanic Heritage Month!

 

National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the United States for recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements for the United States.  Last week at The Academy of Gateway we celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month by making some beautiful art and hanging it on our wall.
