Creating Family Traditions

Family traditions bring a sense of belongingness, commitment and familiarity with each other. They establish bonds that will last a lifetime. This year is the perfect time to start a family tradition in your house.

You can start a Christmas countdown, write letters to Santa, go light-seeing with Hot Cocoa, or get matching Christmas pajamas. The possibilities are endless. Do what works for your family and makes you and your family happy. Enjoy this time of year!

We have started a new tradition at The Academy of Gateway. We are doing Winterfest! This event will be from 10am- 12pm with Santa visiting from 10-11am. There will be other fun surprise activities as well as snacks. Bring your family and make this a new Christmas Tradition!

Thanksgiving Fun

Thanksgiving crafts are a great way to let your little one help decorate for the holiday. The decorations are so much cuter with their help. Here are some great ideas.

Here at The Academy we had a great time making a turkey craft. Crafts are a great sensory experience and it allows them to express themselves.

Another great idea is to make a Family Thankful Tree or make thank you notes for each other.
Here is our tree!

It is easy to get caught up in the holiday rush and miss the reason for the holiday. In this Thanksgiving season relax and remember what you are thankful for. Take time out for the ones you love and enjoy this Thanksgiving. From the our Aog family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

Indoor Fun For Cold Days

This week it has definitely brought in the cold. BRR!
The little ones are enjoying the extra gross motor we are doing indoors. We have brilliant art projects and fall snacks to keep their little minds going while being inside. We had a great cornucopia snack yesterday. It was a grab an go treat they could enjoy and talk about with their family on the car ride home. They loved it!

We are working on fall trees today. They are making them out of their adorable little fingerprints. Look how cute!

We also are doing our thanksgiving lunch with the parents this Friday from 11am-12pm. The kids have told me they are ecstatic to eat with their parents at school.
We have a petting zoo coming on friday as well. We cannot wait to see the children interact and learn about the different animals.
What an exciting week!

It looks like a cold weekend! Here are some great ideas to do indoors to keep your little ones busy.
