Disney Magic to Camp Adventures: A Summer Full of Memories 🌟🏕️💦

 We wrapped up an unforgettable Disney Week filled with fun, imagination, and plenty of themed excitement! Our students enjoyed Mickey and Minnie ears grab-and-go. One of the most special moments of the week was a visit from Princess Tiana, who brought joy, smiles, and a touch of royal charm to our classrooms. We also cooled things down with a playful bobbing for Nemo water day, giving our friends a fun and refreshing way to celebrate together.

As Disney Week came to a close, we rolled right into Camp Academy Week, where the great outdoors came to life right inside our learning spaces. Our campers pitched a tent, transforming our enrichment room and classrooms into cozy camp sites perfect for imagination and exploration. We gathered together for campfire stories, sharing laughter, suspense, and the magic of storytelling with friends.

Creativity continued with tie-dyed t-shirts, where each child created their own colorful design to take home as a special summer keepsake. Midweek, we also celebrated our amazing fathers and father figures with a Father’s Day BBQ, bringing families together for good food, connection, and appreciation.

To finish off Camp Academy Week, we turned up the energy with exciting water relays, giving students a chance to run, splash, cheer, and celebrate a fantastic week of learning and fun under the summer sun.

From magical Disney moments to classic camp traditions, our summer days have been spent full of joy, imagination, and unforgettable experiences at the Academy of Gateway. 

Kicking Off Summer with Adventure, Learning & PLAY! ☀️🎯✨

One of the biggest highlights of the season is the start of our Kindergarten Boot Camp! Our future kindergarteners have officially enlisted and are gearing up for the exciting journey ahead. Through engaging activities, classroom routines, and skill-building experiences, our friends are learning what the next two months will entail as they prepare for their transition to elementary school. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, determination, and willingness to take on new challenges as they build confidence for this important milestone.

Meanwhile, our younger classrooms are joining in on the summer fun with our summer of imagination summer theme. Each day is filled with opportunities to explore, create, imagine, and learn through play. Whether indoors or outside, our students are embracing all the excitement that summer has to offer.

We also kicked off Disney Week in a magical way with Merida’s Archery Challenge! Inspired by the brave princess from Brave, students practiced their aim, coordination, and focus while enjoying a fun activity that brought a little Disney magic into their day. It was wonderful to see our friends encouraging one another, trying something new, and stepping into the spirit of adventure.

This is only the beginning of what promises to be an unforgettable summer. With exciting themes, special activities, outdoor adventures, and plenty of opportunities for learning through play, we can’t wait to see what the weeks ahead will bring.
