Bugs!

 This week at The Academy Of Gateway we have learned  ALL about bugs! Insects have a chitinous exoskeleton, a three- part body(head, thorax and abdomen), three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes and one pair of antennae. Insects are the most diverse group of animals; they include more than a million describe species and represent more than half of all known living organisms.

Earth Day!

 This week we have learned all about Earth! Children do the majority of their learning in their first few years of life. Helping them understand humanity's impact on the earth as early as possible will go a long way in making our home a healthier, greener place in the generations to come.

Petting Zoo!

 

This week at The Academy Of Gateway we have been all about the animals! Learning about animals helps children to understand emotions, develop empathy and learn how to care for others. While learning about the animals the children got to interact with them.

Bike Day!

 
Working on gross motor skills helps a child gain strength and confidence in his/her body. It also helps them get exercise and physical activity, which is important for a healthy lifestyle. Developing these skills helps a Childs ability to do more complex skills in future activities, such as playing soccer with a team. Here at The Academy Of Gateway we make sure to fit in gross motor every day. We even let the children bring in different things on special days. We had bike day and they loved it! 

Here are some fun activities to do at home:

• Riding bikes/ scooters/pedal cars
• Playground play
• Hopscotch
• Balloon and bubble play
