Wild Things Week!

This week we are kicking off summer by talking about all things wild!
Our friends were able to decorate their own wild animal masks, eat some yummy safari animal lollipops, and wear their favorite animal prints. We also talked about what animals live in the wild and if they are carnivores. Some classrooms also talked about the definition of a carnivore.

The Benefits of Free Art!

This week we will be talking about some of the benefits of Free art in young children. Motor Skills and Self- Expression are just some of the main reasons Free art is beneficial for young children.

Scribbling with markers and crayons is a skill that sets the foundation for learning to write. Holding a paintbrush, stringing beads, and cutting with scissors all hone fine motor skills, which aids in things like learning to tie shoes, fastening buttons, holding utensils and many more daily activities.

Mastering skills, completing art projects and learning to express themselves in new ways helps kids gain confidence and perseverance. These things also help kids come up with positive emotional responses to stressful situations.
