Reuse and Recycle!

Here at The Academy Of Gateway we have been working on all the different things that we can make out of recycled materials. The children had a blast showing their creativity! We talked about how recycling can save the earth in many ways. Recycling reduces the need to grow, harvest, or extract new raw materials from the earth. That in turn lessons the harmful disruption and damage being done to the natural world.

Here are some materials to recycle:

• Cans 
• Paper
• Bottles
• Boxes

Mad Scientist!

This week at The Academy Of Gateway we have been learning about science. Science helps children develop life skills, including the ability to communicate, remain organized and focused, and even form their own opinions based on observation. Science also helps children develop their senses and overall awareness.

• Comparing
• Classifying
• Measuring

Here are some great activities you can do with your children over the weekend!

• Paint with some red, white, and blue magic fizzing Popsicle's
• Turn white daisies red and blue (food dye in water)
• Make some ooey, gooey, star -spangled slime
• Popsicle stick flags
• 4th of July scavenger hunt
