Winter Art

 

What a great way to celebrate the season than with winter art. Everyone had a chance to make puffy snow paint in the classrooms. They used glue, shaving cream, and white paint to create this fun experiment. Painting with ice was another fun activity we did for winter art. These art pieces turned out beautiful.

Fitness Friday!

 

Here at The Academy every Friday in the month of January is Fitness Friday! Our teachers help the kids stretch and work out their muscles. We also talk about why fitness and eating healthy meals are important. We go over the five main food groups and give the kiddos tips on different exercises they can do at home.

Free Art

Here at The Academy of Gateway, we believe that one of the ways children express themselves is through art. We let our kiddos draw, paint, and collage whatever they are feeling. Painting to music and drawing what we think might happen in a story are a couple of ways art shapes a childs development.

 

 

Re-Telling the Story!

Today during circle time Pre-K 2 read Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The kids were able to draw their versions of the story. We heard some interesting versions of this famous tale. They also had a chance to retell the story using story folder magnets and a magnetic board. They were told to retell the story in the way they remembered it. This was such a fun activity!
