Keeping Kids Safe Personal Safety Curriculum

In October at the Academy of Gateway if your child is 30 months or older, they will be participating in the Keeping Kids Safe Personal Safety Curriculum. This is a state mandated curriculum for Tennessee child care centers to teach every year to help create child abuse awareness and prevention. We have permission slips in the front lobby for parents to sign giving us permission to teach this curriculum to the children. If your child is 30 months or older, please sign this form for us to keep in your child's file.

The goal of the Keeping Kids Safe curriculum is to help build the confidence and self awareness of the children participating in the program. They will also learn about good touches and bad touches and stranger danger. The curriculum will be taught through fun, child appropriate puppet stories to small groups by Ms. Sam (the assistant director.)
