On Monday, June 9th our AoG kids were excited to listen to the YMCA Lifeguard speak about water safety! She started with a short video of Timon and Pumba from the Lion King discussing how to swim and floatation devices used for safety. Their faces lit up when they saw some of their favorite characters talking about one of their favorite activities for the summer! Many of the children connected the discussion with their real life experiences such as swim lessons they are currently taking or even AoG's weekly water day!
At the end of the visit, the lifeguard asked for volunteers to come on the stage and sing "5 Little Speckled Frogs" with her. We had many volunteers! The children loved singing and jumping off of the "log" and back into the "water"!
The lifeguard provided each child with lots of very useful information and their own water safety coloring book! We really enjoyed the lifeguard's visit and thank her for her wonderful presentation!
