Spring has brought so much fun, learning, and connection at the Academy of Gateway, with our classrooms full of hands-on activities that kept our students engaged and excited to learn every day.
We kicked things off with National Gummy Bear Day, turning up the music for a dance party that had everyone moving, laughing, and enjoying time with friends. From there, creativity took over with a rain stick craft, where students explored sound, rhythm, and creativity while building fine motor skills in a fun and simple way.
Outside and around the building, we added even more color and joy with Chalk Our Walk, where students decorated sidewalks with bright drawings, messages, and springtime creativity. Inside the classroom, rainbow moon dough gave our friends a sensory experience they loved. Squishing, shaping, and exploring while strengthening their little hands and imaginations.
As the season of fun continued, we also stepped into one of our favorite weeks of the year. Teacher Appreciation Week! With the theme “Game On: Teach Strong,” the entire school was filled with games, laughter, and special moments just for our amazing educators.
Each morning started with trivia and prizes, setting the tone for a week full of fun surprises. Families joined in on a sweet matching activity where we tried to match teachers to their baby photos, which brought lots of smiles and laughter throughout the building.
We also enjoyed themed celebrations like a Candyland-inspired treat bar, jumbo game activities, and a game night snack bar that brought everyone together in a relaxed, joyful way. Throughout the week, teachers were also surprised with daily gifts added to their appreciation baskets, making each day feel a little extra special.
We took time to celebrate the amazing moms in our community with a relaxing spa grab-and-go as well. It was a small gesture filled with love and appreciation, created to give our moms a moment to pause, feel cared for, and know how deeply valued they are in our school family.
From classroom fun to educator celebrations, it was a week full of joy, appreciation, and meaningful moments at the Academy of Gateway.
