The past two weeks at The Academy of Gateway have been filled with fall excitement, hands-on learning, creativity, and lots of smiles! Our little learners have been busy exploring the wonders of the season through fun activities, sensory experiences, and special celebrations that brought our classrooms and families together.
We kicked off our first week with The Great AOG Mystery Detective Game, where our little detectives put their problem-solving skills to the test while searching for clues and solving mysteries! We then got a little spooky with a fun science experiment, creating our very own Witches' Brew using vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring. The children loved watching their colorful potions bubble and fizz! We also came together by wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, spreading love and awareness throughout our school. Our creativity continued as we made beautiful fall trees using forks as stamps, and we wrapped up the week with some wonderful sensory fun using fall-scented moon dough, giving our little learners a chance to explore different textures and seasonal scents.
Our second week was just as exciting as we jumped right into our Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Our teachers showed off their creativity with some truly amazing pumpkin designs. We kept the spooky fun going with Eyeball Soup, a sensory activity filled with green water, plastic eyeballs, and creepy-crawly spiders! We also treated our families to a delicious Make Your Own Grab-N-Go Candy Apple Bar, bringing a little extra sweetness to the fall season. Inside our classrooms, the children worked together to create life-size scarecrows, adding their own special touches to these festive fall friends. To finish off our wonderful two weeks, we celebrated with our much-anticipated Trunk-or-Treat and Fall Feast! It was a day full of costumes, treats, delicious food, laughter, and unforgettable memories with our AOG family.
