Plant Your Name

Last week at The Academy of Gateway our Pre-k 1 class did a "Plant your name" Activity. In honor of the first day of spring the kiddos were able to choose their favorite colored flower and the stem spelled out their name. They all did so well spelling out their names and making their flowers. 

 

Nursery Rhymes

This Week at The Academy of Gateway our Toddlers and 2 year old's are learning all about Nursery rhymes. They learned the itsy bitsy spider, Hey Diddle, Diddle, Jack and Jill, and plenty more. Thanks to our Curriculum , Frogstreet, we love getting to learn new things each week.

 

The Benefits of Sensory Play

Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. It helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills. We incorporate Sensory play every day here at The Academy of Gateway. It's such a fun learning experience for all ages. 

 

Prescholar Enrichment: Learning About Africa

 

This week at The Academy of Gateway we are talking about Africa in Enrichment class. We learned about where Africa is on the globe, what kind of animals live in Africa, and Africa's environment. We can't wait to continue to learn about beautiful Africa!

Valentines Sensory Bin!

 

This week at The Academy of Gateway we are gearing up for Valentine's Day. We made and played with a Valentine's Sensory bin. We loved how squishy and colorful the beads were. What a fun way to kick off Valentine's Day.

Math & Science Learning

Pre-K did a math and science learning activity where they made models of squares and circles. They also found squares and circles around the classrooms and enrichment room. They read a book about shapes and then drew pictures using strictly shapes. 

 

Show & Share

Every week at The Academy of Gateway our older classrooms hold Show and Share. This is a time where every child gets a chance to shine in the spotlight. They bring one special item a week to show and share with their friends and teachers.
