What a fun couple of weeks it has been! Our classrooms have been full of excitement, curiosity, creativity, and plenty of smiles as we explored our Academy Lab and Jungle Journey themes. Our friends had the chance to get messy, get creative, learn something new, and most importantly, have fun while doing it!
🧪 Academy Lab
We had a blast becoming little scientists during our Academy Lab week!
We started Monday with Magic Milk, and our friends were amazed as they watched colorful drops of food coloring swirl and move across the milk. They loved watching the colors mix and change and were so excited to see what would happen next. It was the perfect way to kick off our week of science and discovery!
Tuesday was Slime Day, which was definitely a favorite! Our friends got to make slime with their teachers and had so much fun mixing, stretching, squishing, and playing with their creations. There was a little bit of mess, a lot of laughter, and plenty of happy faces!
On Wednesday, we put on our thinking caps and explored what floats and what sinks. The students made guesses about different objects before putting them into the water to see what would happen. It was so much fun hearing their predictions and seeing their reactions when some of the objects surprised them!
Thursday was all about getting creative with Bubble Painting! Our friends used colorful bubbles to make their own unique works of art. They loved watching the bubbles pop onto their paper and seeing the fun patterns they left behind. Every painting turned out a little different, and that’s what made them so special! It was a great way to combine a little science with a whole lot of creativity. 🫧🎨
We ended our Academy Lab week on Friday with our Fizzy Fun Kits! Each student got to take home a mini volcano kit to enjoy with their families. We loved giving our friends the opportunity to continue the fun at home and show their families some of the science they had been exploring at school. We hope there were lots of fizzy, bubbly volcanoes happening at home!
🦁 Jungle Journey
After spending a week as scientists, it was time to head into the wild for our Jungle Journey!
Monday started with Jungle Yoga, where our friends stretched, moved, and wiggled like their favorite animals. We had monkeys, giraffes, lions, and plenty of other jungle friends making their way around the classroom! It was a fun way to get our bodies moving while letting our imaginations run wild.
On Tuesday, our friends got creative with their teachers and made adorable handprint animals. It was so much fun seeing all of the different animals come to life using their little hands. These projects were not only fun to make but also made for some pretty special keepsakes!
Wednesday was an extra-special day because we had a surprise of our own, our chickens hatched! 🐣 Our friends were so excited to see our newest little additions and loved getting to watch the baby chicks begin their journey. It was such a sweet, hands-on learning experience and a wonderful opportunity for our students to observe new life up close. What better way to add a little extra excitement to our Jungle Journey? Wednesday was also Animal Print Dress-Up Day, and our friends definitely brought their wild side! We saw so many fun animal prints and creative outfits throughout the day. Everyone had a great time showing off their jungle-inspired looks!
Thursday took us way, way back in time for our Dino Dig Sensory Activity! Our little explorers dug through kinetic sand looking for hidden dinosaurs. They were so excited every time they uncovered a new dinosaur. There was plenty of digging, searching, and discovering as our friends got to pretend they were real paleontologists for the day!
We wrapped up our Jungle Journey on Friday with our Parents' Night Out, giving our grown-ups a chance to enjoy some well-deserved time for themselves while our friends had a fun evening with us.
And, of course, we couldn’t end our jungle adventure without a very special visitor! Our friends were so excited when a friendly neighborhood dinosaur stopped by to say hello. Seeing their faces light up when they saw the dinosaur was the perfect ending to an already amazing week!
What a fun two weeks it has been! From colorful experiments and messy slime to animal yoga, dinosaur digs, and a surprise dinosaur visit, our friends have had so many opportunities to learn, explore, and make special memories along the way.
A big thank you to all of our families for always supporting our classroom adventures and joining in on the fun. We loved seeing our Fizzy Fun Kits make their way home and hope you enjoyed creating those little volcanoes together! We truly appreciate you being part of our Academy family and helping us make these experiences so special for our little learners.
We are so proud of our friends and all the fun they had during these two weeks. We can’t wait to see what we discover, create, and explore together next!
