The past two weeks at Academy of Gateway have been filled with creativity, exploration, and plenty of opportunities for our preschool friends to learn through play. From the Wild Wild West to Superhero Training, our children enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities designed to encourage imagination, social interaction, fine and gross motor development, and, most importantly, lots of fun!
Wild Wild West Week
Our Wild Wild West theme gave our friends the opportunity to step into the boots of cowboys and cowgirls while exploring a variety of Western-inspired activities throughout the week. Throughout the week, the children explored the Western theme through a variety of hands-on activities and imaginative experiences. They enjoyed exploring a corn sensory bin, which encouraged sensory discovery and fine motor development, and had the special opportunity to see and gently pet our chickens that they watched hatch from eggs. Our little cowboys and cowgirls also had fun dressing up for the occasion and embracing their Western characters. The excitement continued with our horse races, where the children rode around on inflatable horses and enjoyed plenty of movement, laughter, and imaginative play. To wrap up our Western adventure, our friends created their very own snakes using paper chains, giving them another opportunity to be creative while practicing their fine motor skills. It was a wonderful week filled with hands-on learning, imagination, and unforgettable moments!
Superheroes in Training
After our Wild West adventure, our friends traded in their cowboy hats for superhero capes as we began Superheroes in Training! Our little superheroes had so much fun dressing up as their favorite superheroes and bringing their imaginations to life. We also celebrated the special people who inspire our children with our “Who’s Your Hero?” Wall, where families shared pictures of the heroes in their children’s lives. The children then put their creativity to work by designing and decorating their very own superhero masks. Our super friends also had a Hulktastic time with Hulk Smash Bowling, enjoying plenty of excitement as they knocked down the pins and cheered one another on. We ended our superhero adventure with a special take-home surprise! Our super friends got to pick up their very own Super Juice made with apple juice to take home and enjoy with their families. It was an action-packed week that encouraged creativity, confidence, movement, and plenty of imaginative play!
Thank You, Academy Families!
We are incredibly grateful for the continued love, support, and involvement of our Academy families. Your participation helps us create meaningful experiences that make learning exciting and memorable for our children.
Whether we are exploring sensory activities, caring for animals, creating art, developing new skills, or simply enjoying time together, every experience is an opportunity for our children to learn, grow, and make wonderful memories.
Thank you for helping us make each day at Academy of Gateway so special. We are grateful to have the opportunity to watch our little learners explore the world around them, build confidence, and discover something new each day.
We look forward to many more adventures, learning experiences, and memories together!
