Safari Obstacle Course for Hump Day Celebration

Every Wednesday we celebrate with a hump day celebration. This week our families enjoyed a Safari Obstacle Course as they picked up the children. 

We bounced on lily pads to the hippo...

We fed the hippo by throwing balls in his mouth.....

After limbo under the vines we walked on rocks over quicksand...

Finally we fished for snakes before we headed home. Safari Obstacle Course was a fun way to celebrate Hump Day.

YMCA Lifeguard Visits AoG

On Monday, June 9th our AoG kids were excited to listen to the YMCA Lifeguard speak about water safety! She started with a short video of Timon and Pumba from the Lion King discussing how to swim and floatation devices used for safety. Their faces lit up when they saw some of their favorite characters talking about one of their favorite activities for the summer! Many of the children connected the discussion with their real life experiences such as swim lessons they are currently taking or even AoG's weekly water day!

At the end of the visit, the lifeguard asked for volunteers to come on the stage and sing "5 Little Speckled Frogs" with her. We had many volunteers! The children loved singing and jumping off of the "log" and back into the "water"!

The lifeguard provided each child with lots of very useful information and their own water safety coloring book! We really enjoyed the lifeguard's visit and thank her for her wonderful presentation!

Sno Cone Day at AoG

This was a great week at AoG celebrating Island Ivasion. Lots of fun was had in the classrooms and throughout the school. All our friends dressed up in the coolest beach wear, they constructed their own palm tree snack, and the halls are filled with all of our friends tropical art work. 

To end a great week we all had sno cones in the enrichment room with our new Assistant Director Jessica while we listened to fun island music. Academy Summer is in fill swing!

June Classroom Decor Competition at AoG

Our teachers have stepped it up this month showing their many talents.  Each classroom was challenged to a decor competition.  They were to incorporate the summer theme in the decor of their room.  We are very impressed with the results.  

Honorable Mentions...

PreK1 with their jungle theme and cute shark door.  

Infant 3 with their cute snorkling baby door and cool bulletin boards. 

And the Winner is.....Ms. Olivia & Ms. Chasidy in PS4!

Preschool 4 constructed a log cabin in the corner.  They also have a campfire including Christmas lights and several other really cool art work that their friends helped complete.

Water Day

Summer is here and we are having so much fun! 

Toddler 1 playing in the sprinkler with Ms. Katie.  They love to splash and play.                   

                     

Preschool 3 is having fun running thru the sprinklers getting wet!!

Tod 2 is having a great time with Ms. Bradi!!  We have been looking forward to this for weeks.  We were so happy to have a warm day to go out and play in the water.

2014 Spring Conference

Our ladies had such a great time at our Spring Confrernce. Speakers were supercharged and full of information.  Our teachers left enthusiastic to get back to their classrooms and share what they had learned.

 

These teachers were up on their feet, dancing, and having a great time. It was a nice change for them to be together and encourage each other.  

Some of our lucky ladies even won a bit of cash in a balloon drop.  Congratulations Vanessa, Dana, and Autumn.  

Parents, don't forget to put a sticker on your car!! Our very own Brittany Harrison won a Starbucks gift card just for having an Academy sticker on the back of her car.  

As you walk thru the halls of AoG you can see the fresh ideas and hardwork that was put in to show all that they have learned.  Thank you Never Grow Up Inc for a great 2014 Spring Conference.  

AOG at The Duck Derby

Courtney, our Director, Autumn and Jessica our Preschool 3 teachers all had fun face painting and giving our friends tattoos.  Some of outher teachers that came to help were Chasidy, Christie, and Katie K.  Thank you to everyone who helped prepare everything for such a fun event to support a great cause.

We even got te meet some  celebrities from the cast of Nashville!

Ace came out to celebrate Duck Derby with us as well.  He was shaking hands, giving high fives, and even taught a zumba session!

Ace would agree that Duck Derby was a fun event for everyone.  It was great to see everyone there!
